Hello world - we are Bulgarian triplets based in NYC and Berlin. Growing up in a former Communist country, we didn’t have the chance to travel much, so now we’re often on the road.
We’ve lived in NYC for over a decade, but we’ve always been drawn to the “slow life” - simple food cooked with care and enjoyed with a group of good friends; a perfectly balanced drink sipped slowly by the fire; a stay at a quiet vineyard tucked away in the Italian mountains.
We created Triplet Approved as a collection of our experiences - a space where we reflect on past adventures, places, conversations, visual impressions, and ideas that stuck with us. Follow along to see life through our lens.
Ani
The “youngest” of the three, I was a surprise baby. Our parents thought they’d have twins, and then I showed up! My role in the trio is that of a mediator and peacekeeper (though we all get along really well). I’ve always been drawn to writing and have the reputation of telling stories in minute detail and resorting to unusual words to describe things.
I got to travel a ton as a consultant taking almost annual leaves of absence and, more recently, as a product manager at a fully remote travel tech company. I’ve explored the U.S. the most out of the three of us, having completed two cross-country trips between NY and LA. Next on my list: Montana, Scotland, and Ireland.
Desi
The middle child, I’m considered the most fiery of the three. I’m the creative. Most of the photographs on this site were taken by me.
I’m currently based in Berlin, where I moved after graduating from INSEAD Business School (located near Paris). Just like Ani, I did a lot of traveling as part of my former consulting job, and business school gave me a lot more opportunities to travel. I’ve explored Europe the most out of the three. Just like Ani, I now work as a product manager.
Next on my list: exploring some less busy European cities by train (such as Prague, Budapest, and Warsaw).
Sisi
As the first-born, I’ve always been the “mom” of the trio. My favorite ways of expressing myself are through cooking — especially for loved ones — and dancing until oblivion. A math and science nerd since high school (as were Ani and Desi 😊), I am now a data scientist and innovation strategist.
One of my most memorable travel experiences was visiting Lapland in Northern Finland. I didn’t see the sun for two weeks! But I loved cozying up in a cabin warmed by a wood stove and petting reindeers 😍. I’d like to explore more of the Nordics next.
